The Rayye Collective Story

We are two sisters from the Sunshine Coast, who have always shared an incredibly close bond and friendship. We have shared every chapter of life together- even our two pregnancies of our beautiful babies, both only weeks apart. During our 2nd pregnancies we both discovered a love of the name Raye, imagining a little girl with that name. Although we eventually both went with something different in the end, the name really stuck with us.

While we were brainstorming a name for this business, it was the first to come to mind. It felt, warm, bright and full of life, and also has a connection to photography’s most important element- sunlight. So from here the name ‘Rayye Collective’ was born.

Beccy has been working in the photography industry for many years, most recently focusing on underwater maternity shoots, capturing the beauty and magic of pregnancy in a unique way.

Jess on the other hand has always worked as primary school teacher. After becoming a mum, she decided to move to part-time work, allowing time to enjoy the precious early years with her little people. While her passion for teaching has never faded, she’s always felt drawn to expanding her horizons and embracing new opportunities.

So... how did Rayye Colletive come about? Beccy’s passion for photography, along with the constant enquiries from clients and photographers around the world asking where to find similar services in their local areas, inspired the idea for an online photography directory. We were both so surprised that nothing like this existed.

Starting a business together had always been something we dreamed about, so when this idea surfaced, it felt like a natural fit. We realised that together our complimentary skills could create something pretty special, so from here we joined forces and started creating our vision for Rayye Collective.
Ultimately, we wanted to build a space where photographers from across Australia and beyond could showcase their work and be easily discovered by people searching for the right photographer.

As a photographer and a photographer’s sister (who’s lucky enough to enjoy beautiful photos from every stage of life), we know firsthand how meaningful professional photography truly is. It’s about preserving memories that last a lifetime. We wholeheartedly believe that professional photography is worth the investment - and that countless talented photographers simply need a platform to be discovered.

At Rayye, our goal is to connect clients with photographers who truly “get” them,
photographers who can reflect their individuality and style, leaving them with timeless photos they will cherish forever.
